Mike was right. These are not spiders, but they are members of the Arachnid family.
They can run 10MPH and have a nasty bite. They are carnivorous and like to eat mice and lizards.
I suggest heavy boots for Zambia, I think I might leave my Birks at home!
here is another "Pet"... How about the freshwater Schistosomiasis that is transmitted by larvae that penetrate intact skin?
